LOI Track

How to set up and use the Deep Space LOI Track App

App Purpose:
LOI Track in Deep Space allows teams to monitor Level of Information (LOI) changes in Revit model data over time by comparing two milestones. It highlights parameter completeness, blank values, modifications, added/deleted elements, and provides exports for audit or QA workflows.

1. Overview

LOI Track generates a comparison report between two selected milestones. Each milestone represents a point-in-time snapshot of Revit model data captured during a crawl. The report shows:

  • Whether required parameters exist

  • Whether parameters are blank or populated

  • Which values changed

  • Elements added or removed

  • LOI percentage progress over time

This allows model managers to verify information consistency, track updates across phases, and support compliance and audit requirements.

2. Selecting Milestones

At the top of the report, choose:

  • Milestone A (earlier)

  • Milestone B (later)

The system then calculates a comparison period and generates the LOI Track Report.

You can further filter results using:

  • Team Discipline

  • File Name

  • Category

  • Parameters

  • Workset

These filters dynamically shape all charts and tables in the report.

3. Parameter Existence Analysis

Section: Parameters – Do Any Required Parameters Exist on the Element?

This horizontal bar chart indicates:

  • None Exist (pink)

  • Some Exist (teal)

  • All Exist (green)

You can instantly identify parameter availability across milestones.

4. Parameter Population Analysis

Section: Parameters – Are They Blank or Do They Have Data?

For each parameter, the chart shows:

  • Blank (pink)

  • Populated (teal)

Hovering reveals percentage changes between milestones. This helps track how much information is being filled in as the project progresses.

5. Element-Level Parameter Changes

Switch to the Modified view to see only elements where any parameter value changed.

The table shows:

  • Revit Element ID

  • Parameter values at Milestone A

  • Parameter values at Milestone B

  • Highlighting for changed values (e.g. “ (was NA)”)

Use the Select Parameters search bar to focus on a specific parameter.

6. Added and Deleted Elements

In the Element View Type panel, select:

  • Added to see elements that appear in Milestone B but not Milestone A

  • Deleted to see elements that were present in Milestone A but removed by Milestone B

A pie chart visualizes the distribution of Added, Deleted, and Other (unchanged) elements.

The table lists:

  • Revit Element ID

  • Element name

  • Category

  • Family name

This is useful for QA of model updates between issues or revisions.

7. LOI & Element Count Trend

A line graph displays:

  • Total number of elements

  • LOI percentage (% of parameters populated)

This provides an at-a-glance quality and progress indicator across the two milestones.

8. Data Exports

At the bottom of the report:

  • Milestone A Export

  • Milestone B Export

Each export contains a table of element IDs, parameter names, and parameter values, useful for detailed QA or offline checking.

9. Best Uses

LOI Track is ideal for:

  • Verifying model information progression

  • Detecting regressions or missing data

  • Identifying newly added or removed elements

  • Ensuring parameter standards are being followed

  • Supporting audits, compliance checks, and milestone approvals
